Local Research Spotlight: 5G Researches at HUST/VNU

Abstract

Local Research Spotlight: 5G Research Activities at HUST and VNU/UET The evolution from 5G toward 6G networks is driving the development of highly flexible, intelligent, and programmable communication infrastructures. In this context, research testbeds and open-source toolkits play a crucial role in validating emerging architectures, resource management strategies, and service orchestration mechanisms. This talk presents an overview of ongoing 5G research activities at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and VNU/UET, focusing on end-to-end network slicing, resource allocation and optimization, and orchestration across both Open RAN (O-RAN) and 5G core networks. The presentation highlights our efforts in building experimental platforms and prototype frameworks for (dynamic) slice lifecycle management, orchestration, and AI-assisted resource optimization.
